Google Ads can be a great way to scale your Shopify eCommerce store. By targeting the right keywords and using the right strategies, you can drive more traffic and sales to your store.
My name is Jason and I help eCommerce stores scale their sales and revenue by creating killer PPC ads that bring in 7x the ROI. So if you spent $1000 on ads, I could bring $7000 in sales to your store.
Crazy right?
What is even crazier is that I am going to give away some of the secrets that allow me to do this on a consistent basis for a variety of stores and products.
Here are some tips on how to use Google Ads to scale your Shopify store:
Use the right keywords
When it comes to Google Ads, keywords are everything. You need to target the right keywords in order to drive relevant traffic to your store.
The best way to find the right keywords is to use a tool like Google Keyword Planner. This tool allows you to research and find the right keywords for your store.
Let’s say you sold garden lights and some of them are solar powered. Then targeting the keyword “solar powered garden lights” would be a great keyword for you to target. It gets 1,900 searches a month and it has a cost per click of $1.49 or less.
Create Different Landing Pages for Different Products
If you are selling a variety of products, then you will need to create different landing pages for each product. This is because each product will have different keywords that you will be targeting.
For example, if you are selling battery-powered garden lights and solar-powered garden lights, then you will need to create two different landing pages. One landing page would be for the battery-powered garden lights and the other landing page would be for the solar-powered garden lights.
The reason you need to do this is that people who click on the solar-powered garden lights ad want to see just that. Make it easy for them and bring them right to your solar-powered garden lights landing page. Do this and watch your sales skyrocket.
Test, Test, & Test Some More
The only way to find out what works and what doesn’t is to test, test, and test some more. Try different keywords, ad copy, and landing pages to see what works best for your store.
One thing that you should always be testing is your ad copy. This is the most important part of your ad and it can make or break your ad campaign.
Here are some things to test with your ad copy:
– The Headline
– The Description
– The Call to Action
– The Offer
These are just a few of the things that you should be testing with your ad copy. So don’t be afraid to experiment and see what works best for your store.
Use Multiple Ad Groups
When setting up your ad campaign, you should create multiple ad groups. This is because each ad group should be targeting a different keyword.
For example, if you are selling solar-powered garden lights, you could have one ad group that is targeting the keyword “solar-powered garden lights” and another ad group that is targeting the keyword “battery-powered garden lights” for your nonsolar lights.
By having multiple ad groups, you can better target your ads and get more relevant traffic to your store and it is easier to read the data for each campaign to see which products are bringing in sales and which ones are not.
Be Patient
When running a Google Ads campaign, you need to be patient. It takes time to collect data and to see results. So don’t expect to see results overnight. Just be patient and keep testing different things until you find what works best for your store.
